Wooden SCULPTURE painted

Wooden Sculpture Painted

SHAMANIC connexion

This sculpture is representing a shipibo healer (curandero) smoking his tobacco pipe during a ceremony of Ayahuasca. We can see he’s surrounded and protected by nature spirits such as Jaguar, snake, eagle and plants.  But there is also a siren wearing a beautiful crown as is it said that aquatic people live in lakes. All these spirits are well known to natives and have been helping healers through centuries to heal and resolve all the issues in their communities. This piece of art remind us about friendship between spirits and souls gathered all together around the sacred medicine of master plants, protecting us and lightening our path.

Betzon Macahuachi was born in Pucallpa (Peru) in 1977. In the age of 20 years old he was initiated to the sacred medicine of Ayahuasca by healers close to his family and he’s been following the path of medicine ever since. Master plants taught him through multiple visionary experiences how to express his art and share his visions. As sacred chants is one way for shamans to manifest the plants medicine in order to reach people’s minds and hearts, Betzon’s sculptures and visionary art in general can help us to connect with our true nature through mediums representing spirits such as totem animals and master plants.
